Japanese FX Broker Gaitame Boosts 2025 Revenue: Brings CHF 35M to Its Swiss Parent

Compagnie Financière Tradition (SWX: CFT), an inter-dealer broker and operator of a Japanese retail forex trading platform, closed 2024 with a reported consolidated revenue of over CHF 1.05 billion, up from CHF 982.4 million a year ago. The yearly increase was 7 per cent and 10.4 per cent in current and constant currencies, respectively.

Boost in Revenue

Its consolidated revenue, including the share of joint ventures, came in at CHF 1.13 billion, compared to CHF 1.05 billion in 2023.

Revenue from its inter-dealer broking business (IDB) jumped 10.7 per cent to about CHF 1.1 billion, while turnover from the online forex trading business for retail investors in Japan, under the brand Gaitame, reached CHF 35 million, an increase of 22.6 per cent.

“In 2024, the dynamic macroeconomic environment in which the Group operated was marked by a pivotal shift in monetary policy by central banks in the world’s largest economies,” the Group noted in the official announcement. “These changes, along with ongoing geographical uncertainty, drove volatility in financial markets and helped boost trading volumes across all regions and asset classes. Furthermore, the Group’s activity continued to be stimulated by its organic growth policy.”

A Solid Increase in Profits

The Swiss Group also netted CHF 115.6 million last year in profits, rising from CHF 94.4 million in 2023. Its operating profit came in at CHF 125.4 million, a jump of 18.9 per cent and 21.6 per cent in current and constant currencies, respectively. Pre-tax profit came in at CHF 153.5 million, a significant increase from CHF 127.2 million in the previous year.

Further, the Group’s operating margin also improved to 11.9 per cent from 10.7 per cent.

In its outlook, Compagnie stressed that it will keep its focus on organic growth, “particularly through targeted recruitment to expand its product portfolio across different geographic regions.”

Additionally, it plans to maintain targeted investments in the digitalisation of its hybrid brokerage activities as well as in its data and analytics businesses.
