This Prop Firm Hires Former Lehman Brothers and UBS Veteran with 35 Years of Market Experience

Funded
Trading Plus (FTP) has just expanded its C-level lineup with veteran trader Andrew
Lockwood, who has over 35 years of experience in financial markets. In the
past, he worked for more than a decade at UBS and Lehman Brothers.

Appoints Andrew Lockwood

Lockwood’s
career began on the London Stock Exchange and later transitioned to the trading
pits of the London International Financial Futures Exchange (LIFFE), where he
specialized in UK, US, and German bonds, as well as FTSE and sterling markets.

In
addition, he has held senior roles at firms including UBS Warburg, Swiss Bank,
and Lehman Brothers. In recent years, Lockwood has focused on online trading
and education, teaching over 100,000 students and building a social media
following of more than 350,000.

“Andrew’s
wealth of experience and proven track record in both trading and education will
be invaluable to our community of funded traders,” said Simon Massey, CEO of
Funded Trading Plus. “His passion for educating the next generation of traders
aligns perfectly with our mission to provide unmatched resources and support to
those pursuing success in the funded trading space.”

Funded
Trading Plus managed to stay in the market in 2024, despite challenging
conditions. Estimates
suggest that between 80 and 100 prop firms
may have shut down last year due
to an industry reshuffle.

Head of Trader Education

Andrew
Lockwood’s official title is Head of Trader Education. According to information
shared with Finance Magnates, he will be responsible for developing new
materials and educational campaigns for both existing and new clients of the proprietary
trading firm.

“Joining Funded Trading Plus is an
exciting opportunity to share my knowledge with a wider audience and help
traders of all levels improve their skills,” said Lockwood. “Funded Trading
Plus stands out as the most trusted prop firm in the funded trading space, and
I’m eager to contribute to its success by building the best educational content
for its growing community.”

MetaTrader No More

Although
Funded Trading Plus is neither the largest nor the most popular prop trading
firm, it managed to survive the industry’s challenges from the past year. As
reported by Finance Magnates, it was one
of the first firms
to confirm that Eightcap had decided to terminate its
services for the prop trading industry at
the end of February 2024
.

In
response, the firm switched its brokerage partner to ThinkMarkets and
discontinued offering MetaTrader. Currently, its platform lineup
includes MatchTrader, DXTrade, and cTrader.
