Exclusive: Markets.com Surrendered Its FCA Licence, the CEO Departs

Markets.com CEO Stavros Ch. Anastasiou has departed the company, which has also relinquished its license with the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Anastasiou joined Markets.com in 2023 from Safecap Investments Limited, where he held the role of Executive Director.

Finance Magnates contacted the company about the latest development. “This is part of our strategy to exit the UK retail market and focus on our B2B division,” a representative from the company said.

Experienced Industry Executive

Anastasiou is a seasoned industry expert, having worked for a notable brand in the brokerage space. At FXPro Group, he was the Chief Compliance
Officer. He also held a role in Business Development and later served as the
Head of Internal Audit.

Before entering the forex sector, Anastasiou held roles in
the professional services industry between 2005 and 2009, working at major
accounting firms PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte. He served as a Senior
Advisor on Mergers and Acquisitions at PwC Greece, following an earlier
position as an Audit Senior at Deloitte.
